In the states you can get both at the grocer. I can't tell the difference. That said, I did a bit of research and came up with this recipe. Let me know what you think. I would describe this bread as simple, early rustic with a faint beer flavour, slightly yeasty. My boys love it.
Ingredients
1 cup mild beer, flat 250ml
6 tbsp water 88ml
2 tbsp olive oil 30ml
1 1/2 tsp salt 8g
3 cups bread flour or all-purpose 375g
1 1/2 tsp instant yeast 5g
Instructions
Place ingredients in bread machine as manufacturer suggests. (Some specify liquid last!)
Set Course on Basic and your preferred crust.
Susy's Tips and Tricks
Need your beer flat? Just bring to a simmer on the stove, for a couple minutes. The beer will be flat in no time. Let cool to 110F/43C.
Check that dough ball. It should be smooth and slightly tacky at about 5 minutes in. If necessary add liquid or flour. Don't just polio the ingredients in and expect a quality result.
Be sure and remove the loaf from the pan, about 5 minutes after the timer ends. No soggy bottoms allowed.
