Using a bread machine can make the most delightful bread. This one is a keeper. You may need to search a bit for the specialty ingredients. Totally worth it.
Ingredients
1 cup warm water 236g
2 tbsp garlic olive oil 27g
1 tsp salt 6g
1 tbsp sugar 12g
1 tsp minced raw garlic
3 cups bread flour 375g
2 tsp instant yeast 6g
1 cup shredded aged/sharp cheddar cheese 83g
2 tsp cheddar cheese powder 9g
2-3 green scallions thinly sliced
Instructions
Place 7 ingredients in the order your bread machine suggested by your bread machine. Use the Basic setting.
Lightly mix together the cheddar and powdered cheese. Then tip into the machine either when your machine beeps for add-ins or during the last 5 minutes of the first knead. (Typically, that first knead is 19-20 minutes long.)
Remove from machine as manufacturer suggests. Let the bread cool for a good 20 minutes while lightly warm and yet the bread has set.
Susie's Tips and Tricks
Watch that dough ball. It should be smooth and slight tacky. If you need to add a little bit of flour. Do it. Flour is subject to humidity. Sometimes you need more or less.
Garlic oil is found in most grocers. Cheddar powder can be found on Amazon. It last for a long time and is wonderful in cheesy dishes.
